there are a few considerations to make when planing an attack. i am no expert at this so if anybody have any additions or improvements to what is written bellow please let everyone know.
target selection, reconnaissance and intelligence gathering is a different subject which i will cover later. This is assumed that you have a target to attack and want to execute this action.
1. continuously safety probe! send spy drones during your attack especially seconds before the actual hit to make sure the target (fleet, res or both) are there and you are not being ninjaed.
2. Strive to attack from multiple locations using ACS attack option. This will call for your fleet to be split into two or more sections (I prefer as many "battle groups" as possible) thus when returning only one of your battle groups may me ambushed.
3. Attack from your moon(s) as much as possible as moons can not be lanxed, so a potential ninja attack will take a much longer to figure out (remember: LONGER not IMPOSSIBLE). Key triggers for you to pay attention when a ninja attack may happen: if another player is spying or attacking you with a small force of drones. as discussed in my "defense" notes this will help him/her to lunch recyclers way before the attack and also will provide information about your drive research level which will help in calculation of your fleet's speed and return time.
